I met up with a friend for a coffee and told her that my primary school friend just got married this year. She asked me, “ Is this her first marriage ?”
I met up with a younger friend and told her the same story and she said, “Wow, she finally found her special one!“
Same question, different answers.
It’s amazing how our perspective on life can change so much when we get older.
January is a month in which people start the year with their new year resolutions, and we also hear wedding bells ringing. Young babies are being born, and children are saying their goodbyes to their parents as they set off overseas for their studies.
When we are young, love is budding, and a simple kiss can feel like fireworks exploding in your heart.
When we are older, we yearn for that innocence in love again. And as our love ages, it changes with time too. And on the day when it comes to the end of the road, we just have to pick up the broken pieces and move on.
December has always been the month for festive celebrations, but it has recently been raining much more compared to previous years. I still enjoy walking in the rain with you, with the both of us sharing just one umbrella. Although we do get wet, isn’t it still a hopelessly romantic and fun thing that we still do even after being together all these years?
In my diary for January, I drew 31 sunny smiles. One smile for each day.
Dear January, every day is a happy day because I am falling in love with you everyday.
